Update

So blood pressure was a little high today at the doc appt. I am assuming it is work-stress and commuting-stress related, but have to go in for another checkup next week to make sure things are ok. Additionally, baby is currently breach and has about 4 weeks to get turned around to a head down position before s/he runs out of room to do so. All-in-all not my best check-up today. :)

Last night, Jeff and I decided to try one of the old wives tales (dangling a wedding band over belly to determine if boy or girl) and both his ring and mine seem to indicate a boy. So this got me curious as to what the other old wives tales predict. Here's a breakdown:
- carrying low = boy
- craving sweets (vs salty or sour) = girl (but I've always had a sweet tooth!)
- Chinese Birth Calendar = girl (31 at conception in October)
- Mayans = girl (add conception age and year, even=girl, odd=boy)
- Not a lot of acne = boy

Ok, have to stop at some point and right now we are evenly tied for boy vs girl. Guess we'll have to wait another 7 weeks or so to find out how accurate these are, but for now I am thinking a boy. I don't know if my husband just finally convinced me with all his boy talk or if baby is giving me a psychic hint or if it is just the fact that we still have not settled on a boy's name yet! :)

On Saturday we installed the car seats in our cars... that LATCH system made it super-easy! I think we need to make some adjustments though to get it level, but we'll be going to the fire department to have them check it for us first. I think I am just worried because it was way too easy and our baby is going to be in there. Jeff is concerned that the seat isn't big enough for the baby... I had to remind him that the seat only goes up to 20lbs and 20lbs really isn't that big and has he seen the itty-bitty diapers baby will be wearing? Baby will be small, don't worry s/he'll fit in the seat... I hope! :)
