Citigroup - one of the failing banks that has received BILLIONS of our tax dollars - recently attempted purchase of a $50-million dollar jet. Luckily, Obama's office stepped in and Citigroup backed out of the agreement. I just don't understand how a failing company can justify spending $50Million on a jet they can't afford in order to avoid paying a couple million in order cancellation fees and penalties. Meanwhile, over 76,000 people lose their jobs in one day.
I have a feeling this economic downturn we are currently in will continue through 2009, if not 2010. Hang on tight folks, it's going to stay bumpy.
